Sleep Scientist - Grade 1 Medical Scientist
About the Role
This is a Permanent part-time position at 10 hours per fortnight within the Respiratory and Sleep Medicine Department. The Sleep Medicine Service is embedded within the Department of Respiratory and Sleep Medicine Service in the Division of Medicine of the hospital. It serves to provide an accurate and detailed assessment of sleep disorders through the provision of polysomnography (sleep studies) to aid in the clinical management of children of all ages in both in in-hospital and hospital in the home setting. The sleep scientist is responsible for facilitating sleep studies within the sleep medicine service. The sleep scientist is expected to make appropriate changes to ventilation or supplemental oxygen as per the established procedures and protocols.
Classification for this position will range from RX1 – RX7.

About the Department
The Department of Respiratory & Sleep Medicine is staffed by over 50 medical and allied health staff who are involved in management of children and adolescents with clinical disorders of respiratory, sleep and ventilation as well as significant research in these areas.
