Pedagogy & Practice Advisor - Early Learning Victoria Regional North
Salary - circa $130,000 (including superannuation)
The Pedagogy and Practice Advisor will service the Regional North centres, including the newly opened Eaglehawk location in 2025, as well as three new centres in Numurkah, Shepparton & Wedderburn opening in 2026. The incumbent will primarily service the regional north region, however there may also be a requirement to travel to Melbourne CBD.
Reporting to the Early Learning Victoria Area Manager, the Pedagogy and Practice Advisor is an area-based role and is responsible for supporting quality improvement through working with centre leadership teams to build knowledge, skills and capabilities of centre teams. This role will ensure that programs are aligned with the National Quality Framework, the Child Safe Standards and contemporary research. This role will be responsible for delivering key organisational, pedagogical and inclusion priorities within a local context to develop comprehensive educational practices across the centres. The role will work under a matrix leadership structure, directly reporting to the Area Manager, with secondary reporting to the Manager of Pedagogy and Practice.
High Quality Practice: Work alongside centre leadership roles to inform and influence pedagogical and inclusion practices using evidence-informed, pedagogy that upholds all elements of the Victorian Early Years Learning and Development Framework (VEYLDF), Education and Care Services National legislation, the National Quality Standards and Child Safe Standards. Advice and support will be guided by the philosophy of Early Learning Victoria.
Work directly with a selected group of centres in the monitoring of key improvements as outlined in each centre¿s Quality Improvement Plan.
Maintain accurate and up to date records and documentation and reporting to Early Learning Victoria Central Office as required.
Compliance and Child Safety: Ensure all elements of pedagogy and practice are aligned with the National Quality Framework, the Child Safe Standards, approved learning frameworks and all Early Learning Victoria policies and procedures.
Work with centre leadership teams to ensure educational programs and practices are compliant with all aspects of the Education and Care Services National Law and Regulations, National Quality Framework, Child Safe Standards, and all Early Learning Victoria guiding documents.
Leadership: Ensure processes and systems are being adhered to uphold ELV¿s child safety commitments and other policy requirements.
Work collaboratively with a range of different stakeholders, including
Lead organisational objectives, such as the Early Learning Victoria practice guide and quality assessment tools, to drive continuous improvement.
Lead professional learning and networking initiatives to build the capability of centre staff.
Maintain effective professional networking to keep up to date with contemporary research and innovative practice.
Together with centre leadership, support local community connections with the centre.¿¿
Promote a learning culture by prioritising reflective practice and maintaining a continuous cycle of self-evaluation and improvement.
Communication: Utilise effective communication skills to develop and maintain meaningful relationships with staff and other stakeholders, fostering a supportive and collaborative centre environment. Actively promotes respectful relationships and conflict resolution.
Personal attributes: Demonstrate the public sector values of responsiveness, integrity, impartiality, accountability, respect, leadership and human rights.

Leadership and Mentoring: Use your leadership and pedagogy experience to mentor and coach leaders, teachers and educators to strengthen pedagogy and inclusion practices across ELV centres.
Drive service improvement by assessing strengths and areas for growth in accordance with the QIP.
Build awareness of different strengths, abilities and learning styles of staff so that approaches can be individualised dependant on their needs. Utilise formal and informal coaching and mentoring opportunities to meet these needs.
Maintain effective professional networking to keep up to date with contemporary research and innovative practice.
Promote a learning culture by prioritising critical reflection and maintain a continuous cycle of self-evaluation and improvement.
