The Role
¿ LT ¿ Teaching & Learning is responsible for leading the implementation of curriculum (Victorian Curriculum, VCE and VCE VM), assessment (including formative assessment) and reporting practices across the College. They provide leadership on curriculum development, implementation and assessment through the management of Domain Leaders, PLCs and other staff presentations as well as provide leadership on the analysis of student data (e.g. VCE data, PAT data etc) to improve student outcomes.

Role Description
¿ Model High quality teaching and learning practice at all times.
¿ Be a proactive and visible leader of the classroom.
¿ Collaboratively develop and maintain the college professional learning calendar.
¿ Work as part of the Teaching and Learning team and lead the PLC culture at the college.
¿ Lead the peer observation and student feedback process including Pivot Surveys.
¿ Develop staff capacity to implement differentiated teaching practices that promote student agency and inclusion in the classroom across the curriculum.
¿ Ensure appropriate curriculum and pedagogical procedures are embedded into the professional practices of all teachers.
¿ Take account of current education research on the ways to personalise the learning opportunities through curriculum to meet their unique learning needs of our students.
¿ Have high-level knowledge of ICT and the ways it can be used to enhance curriculum delivery, and be able to lead and implement programs.
¿ Use high-level knowledge of assessment and support the implementation of consistent assessment across classes and throughout the college including formative assessment.
¿ Be jointly responsible for the effective leadership and support of the Domain Leaders and undertake other negotiated responsibilities, including attending the Learning Leaders meetings
¿ Lead Learning Specialists in the implementation of MYLNS, TLI and other student learning intervention programs.
¿ Facilitate information sessions for staff as part of the Teaching and Learning team.
¿ Be responsible for coaching of graduate teachers in the early years of their career and support the VIT registration and CareerStart process with Assistant Principals.
¿ This role will co-lead and work within the Teaching & Learning team.
¿ Lead and manage the PAT testing program for Year 10 students. ¿ Coordinate the development of internal exams for all staff, supported by AP - 1 Teaching and Learning, including content, structure, formatting and preparing for printing and coordinate the proofreading process with Domain Leaders.
¿ Leading the management and use of internal assessment data including but not limited to; SAC and internal exam performance, progress report data. Supporting staff to use this data to inform student outcomes across the College.
¿ Other duties as directed by the Principal.

Teachers currently registered or eligible for registration with the Victorian Institute of Teaching and qualified to teach and/or have demonstrated experience in the curriculum area(s) specified for the position.

School Profile
Homestead Senior Secondary College opened in 2020 and is located in a developing area of Point Cook, approximately 28 kilometres from Melbourne CBD. Our feeder schools are the local P-9 colleges ¿ Alamanda and Saltwater P-9 Colleges. A significant percentage of our enrolments are new arrivals to the greater Point Cook community. Homestead also attracts a growing number of enrolments from the independent school¿s sector. Rapid growth is predicted for both the suburb and school over the next 5 to 10 years.
In 2025 we expect approximately 600 students at HSSC, and it is projected that the college¿s peak enrolment will be in excess of 1500 students. In addition to this, we expect to be supporting approximately 600 students from Saltwater P-9 at years 7-9 on the Homestead site while Saltwater undergoes major capital works to increase capacity on their site.
