About the Department
The department provides a wide range of learning and development support and services.
The department provides policy leadership, plans for the future of education in Victoria and leads key cross-sector collaboration. The department plays an important system steward role by providing support, guidance, oversight and assurance across early childhood and school education systems, as well as directly providing school education and 50 new early learning centres.
About the Division
The Department of Education is the Victorian Regulatory Authority for early childhood education and care (ECEC) services under delegation from the Secretary. The Quality Assessment and Regulation Division (QARD) in the department regulates and quality assesses Victorian ECEC services. It drives the delivery of high-quality services and ensures the safety, health and wellbeing of Victorian children attending those services.
QARD regulates approximately 5,000 services including family day care, outside school hours care, long day care and kindergarten programs, as required by the Education and Care Services National Law 2010 (National Law). QARD also regulates services operating under the Victorian Children's Services Act 1996 (Children's Services Act); these include occasional care and limited hours services.

About the Role
An exciting opportunity is available for a highly motivated individual with a strong background in the design, development and delivery of training programs to support the Consistent Practice and Support Unit within the Operations Branch of QARD. Working as part of a small, dynamic team, the Senior Trainer will play a key role in leading the training program for QARD's regional regulatory workforce to build skills and knowledge and promote consistency and regulatory best practice.

This is a full time, ongoing VPS 5 position based at 200 Victoria Parade, East Melbourne, reporting to the Manager, Consistent Practice and Support Unit. From time to time, the role may be required to work from one of the QARD regional offices.

Qualifications and Experience
Desirable: Relevant qualifications in adult education, teaching, behavioural studies or similar.
Essential: Successful applicants will be required to hold a valid Victorian Working with Children's Check and Victorian driver's licence.
