About the role
The Senior Test Lead- Manual & Automation will manage the Data and Digital Delivery test methodology, strategy and planning for manual and automation testing disciplines. Working across the portfolio this role will lead testing standards, processes and quality assurance. The role will manage and assign the project testing tasks across the end-to-end testing lifecycle whilst providing direction, coaching and guidance to the Test Team. In addition, this role will be hands-on to assist with test execution as required on various projects.

Position accountabilities
DTP is seeking an experienced Senior Test Lead to drive the delivery of high-quality testing services across data and digital projects. Working in a dynamic environment, this role will design and implement a robust testing framework that integrates manual and automated testing, ensures critical business applications perform as intended during change, and supports informed decision making throughout the project lifecycle.
The successful candidate will lead the evaluation of testing products and tools to optimise efficiency and resource use, while championing a consistent methodology through a Testing Centre of Excellence. You will directly manage defect tracking, test execution, reporting and documentation, providing clear updates and status communication to senior leaders and project stakeholders. A key part of the role includes overseeing the quality of testing outputs, performing peer reviews, and ensuring testing practices meet both functional and non-functional requirements. You will also provide effective leadership to a team of Testers, fostering collaboration and continuous improvement to enhance service resilience. This position represents an opportunity to make a meaningful contribution to major transport and digital initiatives that benefit the community, while shaping testing capability within a high-profile Victorian government department.Qualifications and experience
• Relevant tertiary qualification eg. Computer science, IT or engineering (mandatory)
• Demonstrated experience (at least 6 years) in manual and automation testing position in a government or large private sector organisation. (mandatory)
• Prior experience working within a DevOps environment (mandatory)
• Experience working in agile and traditional project environments (mandatory)
• Good working knowledge of testing tools such as ALM or Jira/Test Rail. (mandatory)
