About the role
- You are responsible for IT service delivery and providing support to all VMIA users as well as contributing to the development and improvement of VMIA ICT infrastructure and operating environment.
- You have deep insight into IT Infrastructure and Operations processes and systems. You scan the external environment and use that insight to plan, build and maintain VMIA's IT Infrastructure and Operations.
- Your role reports to the IT Infrastructure Manager in the Technology division.
Who you work with
- Work collegially with the Head of IT Infrastructure and Operations to design, develop and implement technology solutions. You provide expert knowledge and advice on IT Infrastructure and Operations Projects.
- Communicate and consult regularly with the team on their work and objectives to ensure our IT remains effective and to help identify opportunities for improvement.
- Actively understand VMIA employee's IT needs and provide support services to enable them to meet their operational requirements.
What we are looking for
- Accountable for implementing, maintaining and supporting VMIA's IT Infrastructure and for the management to resolution of all major and escalated/priority/sensitive incidents and problems.
- Monitor and action on the daily operations of the VMIA's IT infrastructure to ensure performance, availability, integrity and security via preventative and vulnerability management program
- Prioritise, assist and act on level 1 and level 2 escalated issue, and assist with support and resolution where required. Provide expert level 3 support and resolution, including back-end and high-end support, expert level troubleshooting and analysis methods.
- Record, monitor and review systems performance and activities. Conduct root cause analysis of problems, and research and recommend solutions to optimise the performance of the ICT infrastructure to support VMIA users and clients.
- Ensure ongoing compliance of all VMIA IT systems with VMIA's policies, procedures and guidelines.
- Work closely with service providers for the maintenance and support of 3rd party hardware and software.
Qualifications
- Tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline such as Information Technology or Business.
- Relevant IT accreditation or certifications. These could include MCP or CompTIA A+ (or experience demonstrating such knowledge). Microsoft Azure Administrator or Azure Solutions Architect certification is desirable.
- Industry based accreditation such as IT.

Salary Information
At VMIA, we offer competitive salaries based on the role's classification and your skills and experience. Typically, new employees start at the minimum of the salary range, however, consideration may be given to starting above the minimum of the band should you demonstrate extensive experience in a similar role or possess unique and desirable skills and capabilities required to perform the role.
