About the Branch
The Regulatory Strategy and Reform Branch leads regulatory policy, strategic planning and reform initiatives within the regulator, identifying opportunities to improve regulatory frameworks, embed best practice approaches, and drive continuous improvement. This includes supporting implementation of legislative and policy changes, stakeholder engagement, evaluation and evidence-informed decision-making.
About the Role
The Senior Strategy Advisor position sits within the Regulatory Strategy and Reform Branch and provides strategic advice, project management, stakeholder engagement, and progress reporting to drive strategic initiatives aligned with VECRA objectives.
Working within a dynamic, fast-paced team environment, the role works across the organisation to implement government priorities, reform commitments, and raise emerging risks within regulatory strategies, policies, and programs of work.

Experience
The incumbent in this role will ideally have experience in a regulatory environment, bringing a strong understanding of the unique challenges for regulation in sensitive contexts. As the role engages across both VECRA and the Department of Education, the incumbent will maintain a high level of discretion and judgement through navigating complex child safety reform priorities. The incumbent will also bring excellent writing and communication skills, and able to tailor writing to specific audiences, including the CEO and Regulator.
