THE ROLE
The Senior Solicitor role will work closely with the Principal Solicitor and Special Advisor in providing legislation services to the department. This position will be responsible for providing high quality legal and legislative advice and services on a broad range of matters across the Department of Families, Fairness and Housing (the department), with a primary focus on implementation of the child safety reforms.
Specifically, assisting with passage of legislative amendments and supporting implementation of those amendments by providing advice and preparing instruments and other documents to support machinery of government changes, information-sharing arrangements, and other implementation activity.
Subject to workload and the needs of the unit the role may also be required to to support the broader Public Law, Litigation and Inquiries team.
