Senior Solicitor, Litigation and External Review
The Role
This Senior Solicitor role sits within the Litigation and External Review Team in the Public & Administrative Law Unit. In addition to supervising the conduct of litigation and external reviews, the successful applicant will undertake a wide variety of work across the Public and Administrative Law Unit at an advanced level, including advising on and developing legislation, regulations and instruments, delivering advice on public law and administrative matters and managing and advising on disputes, litigation and external review matters.
The Senior Solicitor will also undertake high level research and analysis of complex legal, legislative and policy issues, and will prepare reports, briefs and correspondence on those issues at an advanced level. The role also involves advising on administrative law and public law matters for a diverse client group including regional staff, policy officers and administrative decision makers.

This position is a member of the Litigation and External Review team in the Public and Administrative Law Unit within the Legal and Legislation Branch.
The Branch's role is to provide high quality legal and legislative advice and services on a broad range of matters across the Department of Jobs, Skills, Industry and Regions. There is always a great variety of interesting work.

About You
Having completed your Law degree and been admitted or eligible to be admitted to practise as a lawyer in Victoria, you will bring to this role demonstrated experience as a government lawyer or in a corporate or private practice.
Use your advanced knowledge and understanding of public law principles or litigation, including legislative processes, interpretation of primary and subordinate legislation, constitutional and administrative law, to contribute towards the vital work of this branch.
