About the Role
Make a real impact by leading CFA's digital voice and connecting communities before, during and after emergencies.
We are seeking a Senior Social Media and Content Adviser to join CFA's Media Unit on a parental leave contract through to 12 October 2026.
CFA operates in a complex environment where community trust, reputation, and awareness are critical to achieving our vision. Our Media Unit is a dedicated team of specialists who develop and deliver strategies to guide how CFA engages with Victorians through the media.
In this role, you will lead CFA's social media strategy and drive innovative approaches to grow and strengthen our digital channels. You will play a pivotal role in facilitating two-way digital engagement with both the Victorian community and CFA members – before, during and after emergencies.
By delivering engaging, timely and relevant content, you will:
You will also identify and create opportunities to showcase the contributions and achievements of CFA staff and volunteers, ensuring their stories are shared widely and meaningfully across our digital platforms.
About You
You are a skilled digital communications professional with tertiary qualifications (or equivalent experience) and a strong track record in managing social media and online engagement channels. You can advise and influence senior leaders, develop strategies to shape positive public sentiment and create engaging digital content including video, graphics, and written stories.
With a keen understanding of current and emerging communications technologies, you bring creativity, strategic thinking and excellent interpersonal skills, building strong relationships across teams, stakeholders and the wider community to help CFA connect with Victorians effectively.
