About the Business Unit:
The Department of Justice and Community Safety (the department) delivers a justice and community safety system that works to build a safer, fairer and stronger Victoria.
Civil and Enforcement Services is a business unit within the Justice Services and Regulation (JSR) group and comprises Fines and Enforcement Services (FES) and Adoption Services Victoria. FES is responsible for managing the end-to-end infringement system in Victoria and providing a range of enforcement services administered by the Director, Fines Victoria and the Director, Sheriff's Office Victoria (Sheriff of Victoria).
Sheriff's Office Victoria (SOV) is a branch within FES and provides strategic direction, professional standards and operational support and management of statewide sheriff's officers.
About the Role:
The senior sheriff's officer SAAS is a dual role that administers the Sheriff's operations Real Estate and Assets procedures while also performing all the powers, functions and duties that are delegated by the Sheriff of Victoria. These include, but are not limited to, demanding payment, taking enforcement action under the Fines Reform. Act 2014, seizing and removing property, selling seized property, arresting debtors and delivering vacant possession of premises to the person named on the warrant.
The role will provide efficient and effective administrative support to both SAAS teams and oversee a range of functions to support Sheriff's operations and identify ways of improving systems and procedures.
