About the role
This is a full time fixed term position until 30/06/2026
DTP’s Trusted and Secure Program is aimed to introduce several changes to develop, test and implement cyber security solutions. The Trusted and Secure program aligns with the Department of Transport and Planning Strategic Plan and the Victorian Government Digital Strategy 2021-2026 (A Future-ready Victoria: Victorian Government Digital Strategy 2021–2026 (content.vic.gov.au)
The Senior Security Analyst is a position that sits within the Trusted and Secure team and provides technical and implementation support in the delivery of the Trusted and Secure Program across DTP. This role will work with the Program Delivery team including Program Manager, Security Solution Architect, Project Manager(s) and Business Analyst(s), Cyber Change lead, as well as third party service providers to deliver initiatives.

Position accountabilities
– Working as part of specialised multi-disciplinary teams, assist the planning, design, implementation and assurance of secure enterprise solutions and roadmaps of complex and transformational.
– Provide expert technical skills and assistance in the development and deployment of Security based solutions for the Trusted and Secure program.
– Assist research and analysis activities to develop solution options for complex problems and evaluate proposals, services, and products to recommend solutions and ensure the selection of appropriate technology and successful integration of systems and technologies.
– Apply skills to assist in selecting appropriate design standards, methods, and tools, consistent with industry
standards.
Qualifications and experience
• Bachelor’s degree in a related field and demonstrated experience in a similar role in Government. (mandatory)
• Proven experience in change management, communications and engagement, ideally within a cybersecurity or ICT program context. (mandatory)
• Certification or relevant experience in Cyber Security related frameworks (CISSP, GIAC etc.) (mandatory)
• Agile project delivery experience (optional)
• AWS or Azure Cloud Certification, ITIL (optional)
• Compliance programs/frameworks (ISO 27001, NIST, ASD Essential 8, VPDSF etc.) (optional)
• Sound knowledge of, or practical experience working with security standards and models such as VPDSS, ISM, Essential 8, NIST CSF, NIST 800-61r2, Cyber Kill Chain, and MITRE ATT&CK. (optional)
