The Commission is seeking a senior review and inquiries officer to join its Inquiries and System Reform Team. This is an exciting opportunity to play an ongoing role in identifying system issues and advocating for system improvements for the benefit of children and young people experiencing vulnerability in Victoria.
The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting inquiries (most commonly child death inquiries) with the aim of making high-quality findings about services provided to children and their families and recommendations for improvement.
Senior review and inquiries officers will typically manage an individual case load of child death inquiries, and will assist in the preparation of systemic inquiries or other pieces of thematic analysis as part of small inquiry teams. The successful candidate should have excellent analytical, written communication and verbal communication skills. An understanding of systems relevant to children, young people and families experiencing vulnerability will be an advantage; such systems include the child protection, out-of-home care, youth justice, child and family, family violence, health, and education systems.
