We are looking for an enthusiastic and self-motivated Senior Legislative Policy Officer to join the Animals and Agriculture Legislation branch within the Regulatory Policy and Programs/Animal Welfare Victoria division. The division provides agriculture, biosecurity and animal welfare policy, legislative and regulatory advice in a fast moving and complex environment. This position is an opportunity to lead diverse, complex and challenging projects relating to state policy and legislation development.
The successful applicant will have strong analytical skills and experience in developing policy recommendations or legislative options to satisfy a complex group of stakeholders. They will be excellent at building productive stakeholder relationships. Strong project management, communication, negotiation and influencing skills are a must.
The successful applicant will have the ability to work well in a multidisciplinary team environment as well as drive their own work program. To be successful you will also need to display a ‘can-do’ attitude and the capacity to actively contribute to developing a culture of excellence, collaboration and integrity. The successful applicant will enjoy flexible work arrangements and have the opportunity to undertake a wide range of work within the branch and across the division.

This is a fixed term position available for a period until 30 June 2026. The work location for this position is Attwood with hybrid work arrangements available.
