Senior Lawyer – Prosecutions
The Role
The Senior Lawyer's role includes reviewing briefs of evidence for sufficiency of evidence, providing authoritative and accurate legal advice and recommendations to investigators and authorised officers, prosecuting contraventions across a broad range of laws, including those relating to the Fisheries Act 1995 and other relevant legislation the VFA enforces, managing the administration of offence files, infringement notice and official warnings as well as mentoring other Prosecutors within the Unit.

The position of Senior Lawyer – Prosecutions forms a part of the Community Engagement and Major Crime branch of the Victorian Fisheries Authority.
The VFA is a statutory authority established to facilitate the effective management of Victoria's fisheries resources in a coordinated and strategic way that ensures their ongoing sustainability.
