The Department of Justice and Community Safety is seeking a Senior Project Officer to provide a critical role within the System Performance Branch.
About the Business Unit
Corrections Victoria (CV) is part of the Corrections and Justice Services group in the Department of Justice and Community Safety (department). Corrections Victoria operates Victoria's adult custodial corrections system. Its vision is for Safer Prisons, Safer People, Safer Communities. Corrections Victoria's mission is to create a safer, smarter system with a skilled and supported workforce, that enables people in our care to make better decisions.
The System Performance Branch drives operational excellence across Victoria's prison system by providing strategic advice, developing operational policy, leading performance monitoring, and overseeing reviews, investigations and major projects. The branch works closely with prisons and key stakeholders to improve system performance, support statewide operations and deliver critical business priorities.
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Officer to deliver and contribute to strategic projects that support CV and enhance prison operations and safety. This is a varied and fast-paced role suited to someone who enjoys leading complex projects, solving problems and influencing outcomes.
As the successful candidate, you will lead project management activities, provide strategic advice to senior leaders, manage high-priority initiatives, prepare briefings and correspondence on complex issues and work collaboratively with stakeholders across the correctional system. The role also offers opportunities to visit prison locations and support the delivery of statewide operational projects.
