The Department of Justice and Community Safety is seeking a Senior Project & Policy Officer, Aboriginal Health to provide a critical role within Corrections Victoria
This is an Aboriginal Designated Position, classified under ‘special measures' of Section 12 of the Equal Opportunity Act 2010. Only Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people are eligible to apply.
About the Business Unit
Justice Health is part of the Corrections and Justice Services (CJS) group in the Department of Justice and Community Safety and supports the Minister for Corrections. CJS also comprises Corrections Victoria; Policy, Strategy and Service Design; Group Services and Coordination; and Justice Services (which includes Community Correctional Services and other justice programs). CJS plays an integral role in developing safer and more resilient communities and in delivering a trusted justice and community safety system.
The Aboriginal Health Unit is responsible for the design, implementation and evaluation of initiatives to strengthen Aboriginal health care within both adult and youth custodial settings. This includes initiatives to:
