THE ROLE
The Senior Project Officer in Organisational Strategy and Projects (OSP) works as part of a multi-disciplinary team delivering projects that address whole-of-department priorities relating to organisational change, efficiencies, effectiveness and continuous improvement. The team focuses on the priorities of the Secretary and the Board of the department. The team's projects focus on scale and impact, and as such typically focus on whole-of-department or large systems, processes and ways of working. This includes corporate, operations and other projects.
You are an organised person, with the ability to act with autonomy within a broad area of project delivery. You will champion key activities and deliver to appropriate timelines, escalating risks and issues in an appropriate timeframe with effort to support mitigations.
The Senior Project Officer will be demonstrate capability in key areas to contribute to the team's work program, such as project management, problem solving, systems thinking and change management.
As a multi-disciplinary team, a range of different technical skills are valued. No individual needs to hold all these skills, but key capabilities across the team that would be viewed favourably from applicants include: organisational and operating model design; change planning and implementation; data analysis (including familiarity with workforce and budget analysis and systems);and service delivery operating models and governance systems design

ACCOUNTABILITIES INCLUDE
– understand current state operating models, including governance, policies, processes, structures, systems and ways of working.
– define or re-design proposed future states that balance strategic thinking with rapid ‘test and learn' evolution based improvement
– develop business cases for change, including options analysis, feasibility, cost and benefit estimation, investment logic, and benefits management planning
– develop quality briefs, process flows, business analysis, reports, budgets, policy frameworks and other relevant documents and correspondence on complex issues.
– develop and contribute to outcomes and evaluation of program activities.
