This role is based at any Housing Office in South Division with frequent travel to all South Division Housing Offices.
THE ROLE
The Residential Tenancies Act Renter Engagement Officer (RTAREO) plays a crucial role in facilitating the safe and compliant execution of safety checks and inspections in rental properties governed by the Residential Tenancy Act 1997 (RTA). This position is responsible for project planning, and project management of, the RTA safety check program and involves fostering effective communication with senior executives and DFFH Local Housing Offices across the Division, tenants and contractors, and Homes Victoria.
This role prioritises project planning, management and delivery, exceptional customer service, strong communication and stakeholder management skills, the ability to plan, organise and prioritise workloads, alongside a commitment to the regular and consistent delivery of RTA compliance safety checks.
Achieving success in this position requires the establishment and maintenance of strong connections with public housing renters, Local Housing Offices across the operational Division, Homes Victoria and RTA contractors. Moreover, it necessitates adherence to rigorous health and safety standards and the proactive adoption of enhancements based on feedback from stakeholders.
This role will work closely with renters, local support services, Homes Victoria's Compliance & Safety team, Local Housing Offices, Homes Victoria Contract Managers, and contractors for the successful implementation of the program. The role will be expected to work across the relevant Division to attend to RTA needs of renters.
