Senior Project Officer, Contract and Grant Management
The Role
As a Senior Project Officer, Contract and Grant Management, you will play a key role in leading the delivery and continuous improvement of grant management activities, with a primary focus on the Reconnect program. The role is responsible for managing the implementation and recontracting of the program, ensuring effective administration, oversight, and alignment with departmental and sector-wide priorities.
With strong project management and stakeholder engagement skills, the Senior Project Officer builds and maintains productive relationships across internal teams and external delivery partners. The role supports robust governance of grants by coordinating processes, responding to provider enquiries, and contributing to the continuous uplift of operational practices.
The Senior Project Officer applies analytical tools and systems to assess grant performance, compliance, and risk. Drawing on this analysis, the role prepares high-quality reports, briefings, and correspondence to support informed decision-making and drive performance improvement.

The position of Senior Project Officer, Contract and Grant Management will work within Training Operations and Assurance branch, which sits within Skills and TAFE group.
Skills and TAFE (ST) focuses on enabling Victorians to access the knowledge, skills and attributes they need to participate in today's workforce, prepare for future jobs, and achieve their educational aspirations.
Working in close partnership with the Victorian Skills Authority (VSA), ST provides leadership and stewardship of a responsive, high-quality vocational education and training (VET) system. This includes oversight of the Victorian TAFE Network, led by the Office of TAFE Coordination and Delivery (OTCD), and the apprenticeships system, with a strong focus on aligning training with industry needs and strengthening pathways into the workforce.
ST supports lifelong learning and inclusive education through Adult, Community and Further Education (ACFE) and the Learn Local network, helping adult learners progress into further study or work. ST collaborates across government, industry, education providers, and communities to deliver skills-focused solutions that improve workforce outcomes and enable businesses to access a skilled workforce.
ST works with universities and collaborates with other Australian jurisdictions to advance national training and higher education reforms, drive innovation, and ensure consistent quality across a joined up tertiary system.
