We bring important day-to-day services together in one department to make things easy and seamless for Victorians and businesses. About the group
The Consumer Affairs and Local Government Victoria group is responsible for policy development; regulatory design and administration; system and program design; and the delivery of services in the best interest of Victorians. Spanning both the Consumer Affairs and Local Government portfolios, the group identifies strategic priorities, drives system and regulatory reform and coordinates DGS’ emergency management responsibilities to improve practical outcomes for the community.
The Office of the Deputy Secretary supports the Deputy Secretary, Consumer Affairs and Local Government Victoria in all aspects of their role. This includes providing advice about policy and corporate strategy; coordinating and reviewing advice for the Deputy Secretary; managing competing priorities; supporting the Deputy Secretary to attend key internal and external stakeholder meetings; and working with staff and executives across the group to deliver timely, excellent advice and key deliverables.
About the role
Reporting to the Head of Office in the Office of the Deputy Secretary the Senior Project Officer is responsible for providing coordination and reviewing services for incoming and outgoing material through the Office of the Deputy Secretary. This position will also manage the coordination of multiple priorities across the group to support the development of communications, reports, briefings and correspondence and ensure strong relationships are built and maintained across divisions and the broader department.
The successful candidate will have demonstrated knowledge of government processes and systems. Excellent communication, negotiation and influencing skills are a must. You will be strong team players, ideally with excellent organisation, time management and planning skills to be able to meet urgent and often conflicting deadlines. This position also requires the interpersonal skills to liaise with a broad range of internal and external parties. The successful applicant will work effectively as a member of a team to deliver high quality outputs, undertaking a wide variety of work across the group’s ministerial portfolios and to meet departmental and government priorities.
