The Senior Project Officer will play a key role in the preparation and implementation of Victoria’s first auction for offshore wind development. The role supports the execution of energy market auctions to deliver major energy infrastructure projects, including contributing to the delivery of commercially sustainable auction documentation and ensuring successful integration of the offshore wind auction contracts into the new national Electricity Services Entry Mechanism (ESEM) (currently under development).
The role will provide robust, timely policy advice to drive value for money, enable timely informed decision-making, undertake research and analysis, manage input from external advisers and prepare submissions, ministerial briefings and papers.
Strong inter-personal and stakeholder engagement skills and policy, research and analytic capabilities are required, together with a collaborative and engaging approach to form influential stakeholder relationships. The Senior Project Officer liaises with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders and the position is required to develop effective working relationships across the division, with other groups within the department and other government departments and external stakeholders.

This is a fixed term position available until 24 June 2027. The work location for this position is 8 Nicholson Street, East Melbourne with hybrid work arrangements available.
