THE ROLE
The Senior Project Officer within the Directorate of the Homelessness & Housing Support Branch will report to and support the Cross Portfolio Strategy Manager in developing high quality advice to the Executive Director. A key function of this role includes provides oversight and monitoring of cross-branch priority projects, enabling a project management function to ensure coordination and quality reporting of key projects. The role is also responsible for providing strategic advice on corporate, staffing and governance matters, and preparing communications to internal and external stakeholders, including the homelessness sector.
ACCOUNTABILITIES INCLUDE
- Establish and maintain a project management function for the strategic projects that cross the branch's three units. This ensures that projects are coordinated, with clear accountability and reporting products that track delivery and outcomes.
- Provide high level authoritative advice to the Executive Director on a broad range of topics and department wide matters, including corporate, governance, organisational change and people and culture matters and lead projects as required by the Executive Director.
- Respond to queries and information requests and take follow up action as required. This includes operating confidentially, with discretion and with a high level of integrity and autonomy, and allocating issues for resolution.
