Key Selection Criteria
The Senior Project Manager – Workplace Projects leads the delivery of a diverse range of projects across DTP workplaces, including construction, environmental initiatives, relocations and building compliance works. The role ensures all projects are delivered on time, within budget and to the highest quality and governance standards. Working closely with other government departments, including the Department of Government Services, the Senior Project Manager ensures DTP’s workplace project requirements are successfully achieved.

Position accountabilities
The Department of Transport and Planning (DTP) is seeking an experienced and proactive Senior Project Manager – Workplace Projects to lead the delivery of complex property and workplace initiatives that support the department’s strategic objectives.
In this pivotal role, you will oversee the planning and implementation of workplace projects that enhance DTP’s operational performance and service delivery. You will be responsible for developing high-quality briefs on complex issues, providing clear and practical options for decision-makers, and ensuring projects are delivered efficiently, on time and within scope.
You will represent the Department with confidence when engaging with internal clients, delivery partners and external stakeholders, using your strong negotiation and influencing skills to secure commitment and alignment across all parties. Your ability to understand stakeholder perspectives, anticipate challenges, and build productive working relationships will be key to your success.
The ideal candidate will bring extensive project management experience within a government or large, complex organisation, coupled with strong communication, leadership and stakeholder engagement skills. You will have a high level of expertise in a relevant field, ensuring all projects comply with departmental standards and broader government requirements.

Qualifications and experience
Desirable
– Tertiary qualifications in a related field and/or significant experience in a similar role.
– Property, project or facilities management experience in a government context.
