The Department of Justice and Community Safety is seeking a Senior Project Manager - SaferSkills to provide a critical role within the Rehabilitation and Reintegration Branch.
About the Business Unit
The Offender Services and Reintegration division of Corrections Victoria (CV) is responsible for providing best practice interventions which aim to reduce the risk of reoffending including case management, education and employment, prison industries and rehabilitation and reintegration supports.
The Rehabilitation and Reintegration Branch (Branch) is responsible for a range of programs and services across both prisons and Community Correctional Services. These programs include transition and reintegration, parenting and family engagement, women, disability, family violence programs and services.
The division contributes to a safer community by supporting a safe and humane corrections system that provides opportunities for rehabilitation, supports reintegration and works toward Aboriginal self-determination.
About the Role
The Senior Project Manager - SaferSkills is responsible for leading the development, implementation and operationalisation of significant reform focussing on workforce capability that seeks to improve custodial case management through embedding a trauma-informed and gender-responsive training model for the Victorian men's prison system. The Senior Project Manager - Safer Skills will be required to oversee a project team and lead the implementation of this training model, and ensure alignment with other key workforce strategy projects, focussing on consistency and integration.
This project is central to building a skilled, confident, and well-supported workforce capable of delivering high-quality correctional services. It focuses on developing staff capability to effectively support people in custody and drive lasting behavioural change.
