About the role
The role is fixed term fulltime until 30 June 2027. The Senior Project Manager position sits within the Data & Digital division and will be responsible for the delivery complex high value projects. The role will be required to manage an internal project team, external vendors and establish relationships with representatives from other Departmental groups to successfully plan, execute and deliver the project, and transition to operations. This will be done via a range of delivery methodologies. The role will provide project-related technical and commercial advice to senior management.
The primary focus of this role is to project manage and deliver complex procurement outcomes across a portfolio of high‑value service and infrastructure contracts, ensuring commercial, legal and operational objectives are met. This includes reviewing existing vendor arrangements, developing and executing end‑to‑end procurement plans and engagement briefs, and managing procurement activities through RFT and RFP processes. The role is responsible for coordinating response assessments, legal and commercial advice, contract negotiation, and the establishment and onboarding of new vendor arrangements.

Skilled in developing comprehensive project plans covering scope, timelines, budgets, and resource allocation, and in implementing robust project governance, risk management, and status reporting to maintain transparency and accountability. Effectively supports change management by collaborating with relevant teams to integrate transformation initiatives while minimising impact on employees, stakeholders, and end users.
Builds and sustains productive relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including senior management, to ensure alignment and effective communication throughout project delivery. Fosters a collaborative, inclusive, and flexible team culture, leading multi-disciplinary teams to achieve improved business and customer outcomes through data and analytics. Promotes safe and adaptive working practices while ensuring project teams operate efficiently, effectively, and in line with organisational and legislative requirements.
