About the role
This is a Full TIME FIXED TERM position until 30/06/2026
This role is responsible for the successful delivery of complex, high value stakeholder infrastructure or technology projects with a focus on client management of a portfolio of projects to agreed scope, time, quality and budget and ensuring project outcomes achieve DTP safety, operational, asset management, customer and commercial objectives. The role will provide project related technical and commercial advice to the Program Director as well as Executive leadership within the Investment and Technology division.

We are seeking a Senior Project Manager who can deliver high-quality advice, foster trust with stakeholders, and provide innovative solutions to complex issues while ensuring successful project outcomes. The role requires strong problem-solving skills, digital and commercial acumen, resilience under pressure, and the ability to build a culture of collaboration across internal teams and external partners.
Position accountabilities
– Successful delivery of complex infrastructure or system projects with a focus on client management of a portfolio of projects to agreed scope, time, quality and budget and ensuring project outcomes achieve DTP operational and commercial objectives.
– Timely development of commercial arrangements with delivery partners and project stakeholders that maximise value for money for the State, and lead to the successful delivery of DTP projects.
– Accurate and deliverable project scopes and cost estimates provide value for money and best fit for customer needs.– High quality project governance for high value complex infrastructure procurement and operating within a whole of project life cycle process with appropriate stage gates and peer reviews that deliver the highest quality transport projects for all Victorians.
– Effective liaison with project proponents leads to resolution of complex issues, and rescheduling activities to adapt and respond to new circumstances.
Technical capabilities
Project Management (PRMG) (Level 6)
– Takes full responsibility for the definition, documentation and successful completion of complex projects.
– Adopts and adapts project management methods and tools. Ensures that effective project monitoring and control processes, change control, risk management and quality processes are employed and maintained.– Monitors and controls resources, revenue and capital expenditures against the project budget.
– Manages the expectations of key project stakeholders.
Qualifications and experience
– Prior government experience in delivering multiple Maximo based solutions (Mandatory)
– Demonstrated success adapting to a fast-paced environment (Desirable)
– Tertiary qualification, or proven extensive experience, in engineering, project management, planning or related discipline. (Desirable)
