The Department of Justice and Community Safety is seeking a Senior Project Manager to provide a critical role within the Contracts and Infrastructure Branch
About the Business Unit
Contracts and Infrastructure are responsible for contract management, commercial oversight and advisory services, as well as the effective management and maintenance of all Corrections and Justice Services' prison and related infrastructure. This includes:
- The management and oversight of major contracts including those for private prisons.
- Representing the Corrections and Justice Services' interests on infrastructure and construction projects to ensure the best possible outcome for stakeholders and commercial partners.
- The development and implementation of all required systems, processes and policies to sustain this diverse asset portfolio.
About the Role
The Senior Project Manager, reporting to the Director, Contracts and Infrastructure Branch provides leadership with a strong focus on driving best industry practice and continuous improvement ensuring the State receives value for money services. The Senior Project Manager will report on the strategic management of operational and contractual risk. This role will also manage a range of high-level and corporate activities, strategic matters and projects. The role operates within a complex and dynamic environment that requires the capacity to exercise sound judgement, effectively liaise with key stakeholders, provide high-level advice and undertake effective and timely actions.
Some of your duties will include:
- Provide high-quality, authoritative, and strategic advice to, and on behalf of, the Director, CIB on complex and sensitive correctional issues.
- Undertake a range of reporting functions as directed, particularly regarding contractual performance and identified risks.
- Lead the branch's strategic risk focus across all functional areas, coordinating and reporting on the branch's risk treatment program.
- Prepare high-level briefing papers, complex correspondence and proposals, including routine reports that articulate contractual performance of the branch's key functional areas, in a time-pressured environment for the Director, senior Departmental personnel, and Government.

About you
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Proven ability to provide high-level advice and analysis to executive management under pressure in a dynamic and complex environment.
- Demonstrated understanding and awareness of the key issues affecting the corrections and justice services portfolio.
- Demonstrated understanding and/or experience working in a contract administration environment.
Qualifications/requirements
- There are no mandatory qualifications for this role however relevant qualifications in project management, contract management, and/or Correctional experience are highly desirable.
