About the Role
The Senior Project Advisor works in the Regulatory Projects, Risk and Resources team in the Schools Division. The team is responsible for leading project management, contract management, procurement, administration, reporting, data analysis, planning and coordination functions for the Schools Division. It is responsible for providing timely advice and reporting to the executive and the VRQA Board, and secretariat support to a board Subcommittee.
The Senior Project Advisor role may be involved in all aspects of the team's work but will be particularly responsible for project managing the annual cycle of school reviews, undertaking risk analyses against frameworks, helping to manage workflows across the division, undertaking any other regulatory and other projects required to support the work of the division and providing secretariat support (including writing papers) for the board subcommittee.

The VRQA is the Victorian schools, apprenticeships and traineeships regulator, a statutory entity with independent functions that is part of the Department of Education, also reporting to an independent board.
The Schools Division of the VRQA is responsible for registering all Victorian schools, and in the process ensuring they meet child safety and other obligations. It is also responsible for undertaking reviews of schools and other related providers to ensure they are continuing to meet their obligations. It works closely with a range of external stakeholders to deliver this function, including applicants wishing to become school proprietors, existing schools, various areas of the Department of Education, the Victorian Catholic Education Authority, Independent Schools Victoria, the Victorian Curriculum and Assessment Authority, and independent reviewers the VRQA engages.
