About the Department
The department provides a wide range of learning and development support and services.
The department provides policy leadership, plans for the future of education in Victoria and leads key cross-sector collaboration. The department plays an important system steward role by providing support, guidance, oversight and assurance across early childhood and school education systems, as well as directly providing school education and 50 new early learning centres.
About the Division
The International Education and Partnerships Division provides strategic advice and sector-level support for the department's key functions and obligations in relation to global learning and engagement, the non-government schools sector and teaching with animals in schools. The division develops and maintains strategic partnerships with key internal and external stakeholders in different education sectors and levels of government and carries out regulatory functions and responsibilities under various Acts to ensure compliance in Victorian schools.
The division's Strategy and Quality Assurance Unit provides the following key functions and services:
About the Role
This is a fixed-term position until 30 June 2027.
Reporting to the Manager, Strategy and Quality Assurance Unit, the purpose of this role is to lead the development of priority international education strategic projects and programs, undertake evidence-based policy and program design and enhance global learning and engagement programs in Victorian government schools, including:
This role may also be required to undertake other work at the direction of the Executive Director, International Education and Partnerships Division. It has people management responsibilities for a VPS3 Project Officer in the unit.
The role is based at 200 Victoria Parade, East Melbourne with hybrid work arrangements available.

The ideal candidate will have strong policy and project management skills and use their critical thinking and problem-solving skills to provide innovative solutions to complex issues. They will be able to build and d evelop strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders and work collaboratively within a team. They will have excellent data analysis and written communication skills and be able to work proactively and independently. They will also have experience in managing people.
Desirable Qualifications and Experience
A relevant tertiary qualification in education or a related field is desirable for this role.
All staff must possess a valid employee Working with Children Check (WWCC) for employment in the division.
