About the Department
The department provides a wide range of learning and development support and services.
The department provides policy leadership, plans for the future of education in Victoria and leads key cross-sector collaboration. The department plays an important system steward role by providing support, guidance, oversight and assurance across early childhood and school education systems, as well as directly providing school education and 50 new early learning centres.
About the Division
The Child Safety Taskforce leads the implementation of child safety reforms and advice on child safety policy issues in the early childhood portfolio. It works closely with other parts of the department to provide coordinated policy and program advice, including policy input into Commonwealth/State negotiations.
About the Role
Multiple fixed term positions available till 20/7/2027
The Senior Project Advisor will work within the Child Safety Taskforce to implement the Victorian Government's child safety agenda commitments, including the response to the recommendations of the Rapid Child Safety Review. The role also contributes toward policy development, program implementation, key stakeholder engagement and providing general project and team support to ensure successful project delivery.
To succeed in this role, applicants should demonstrate excellent strong project management and communication skills, strong policy and implementation design skills and experience, strong communication skills, and the ability to work in a collaborative, agile and flexible manner.
Attributes
The Senior Project Advisor needs strong leadership skills to guide teams and oversee project delivery and day-to-day operations. They must have a solid understanding of contract management, program implementation, and performance monitoring. The role requires the ability to plan and coordinate complex work, make informed decisions, and solve problems effectively. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential for building strong relationships with stakeholders, partners, and team members.
Desirable Qualifications and Experience
Experience in child safety policy or program design and delivery is desirable but not essential.
