About the role
The Senior Program Officer provides high-level program and project management support to ensure the efficient, consistent and effective delivery of Spatial Planning initiatives. The role leads continuous improvement in processes, systems and reporting, and strengthens evidence-based decision-making through robust analysis, evaluation and monitoring of program outcomes.

Position accountabilities
DTP is seeking a Project Officer to support Victoria’s spatial planning programs. This role focuses on leading and implementing efficient processes across programs and projects, ensuring timely and effective outcomes. You will coordinate Project Management Office (PMO) functions, support system and process improvements, and apply project management tools to deliver programs and projects successfully.
The role involves developing detailed project plans, providing expert advice, and monitoring program and project performance to align with best practice evaluation frameworks. You will prepare analysis, briefings, reports, and presentations to support evidence-based decision-making and inform senior leadership. Building and maintaining strong relationships with stakeholders across government and the department is a key aspect of the role. You will provide authoritative advice on program progress, risks, resourcing, and opportunities for improvement, helping ensure transparent and effective program delivery. We are looking for a motivated professional with strong project management, analytical, and communication skills. This role offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to Victoria’s planning outcomes and play a central role in delivering responsive, evidence-based spatial planning programs.
