About the Role
This role is located within the SMP Unit of the Asset Management Branch. The SMP Unit manages and implements the SMP program and oversees school-led Planned Maintenance Program (PMP) projects. SMPs are five-year plans that support schools to: address condition-based defects identified through condition assessments; schedule, undertake, and record routine maintenance activities; and record and manage any asset hazards unique to their school sites. Using their SMPs, schools can effectively budget, schedule, and manage the maintenance of their buildings and grounds.
Key responsibilities of this role include providing one-on-one support to schools during the development of their SMPs (for example, through online workshops); providing one-on-one support to schools to update their SMPs and the Department of Education's Asset Information Management System (AIMS); coordinating and managing responses to stakeholder enquiries (such as requests for information on school-led projects and SMP-related questions); developing communications collateral and supporting resources (including policy documents, fact sheets, and FAQs); responding to requests for information from the Minister's Office and the VSBA Executive team (including the development of briefings, correspondence, and parliamentary material); providing administrative support for programs and projects; leading the assignment and coordination of the above tasks while mentoring and supporting junior team members; and supporting the Branch in other ways, as required.
All VSBA staff share responsibility for meeting the service standards outlined in the VSBA's Customer Service Charter. Our goal is to ensure every interaction with the VSBA is a positive one for our customers, colleagues, and key partners, regardless of individual role or team.
