The department provides a wide range of learning and development support and services.
The department provides policy leadership, plans for the future of education in Victoria and leads key cross-sector collaboration. The department plays an important system steward role by providing support, guidance, oversight and assurance across early childhood and school education systems, as well as directly providing school education and 50 new early learning centres.
About the Branch
The Workforce Policy and Programs (WPP) Branch sits within the Workforce, System and Family Supports division and leads on the implementation of key early childhood workforce strategy, projects and programs that support the implementation of the Best Start, Best Life reforms. The branch has a particular focus on increasing early childhood teacher and educator supply. The work of the branch is built on a strong foundation of collaboration with stakeholders with whom we are partnering to successfully deliver these policies and programs.
About the Role
As a Senior Program Advisor, you will lead the delivery and continuous improvement of programs that support the recruitment and retention of early childhood professionals in funded kindergarten services. You will manage program planning, monitoring, reporting and contracts, while building strong relationships with stakeholders and suppliers. You will manage and interpret program guidelines and policies to support informed decisions, respond to changing priorities and opportunities, and ensure program outcomes are delivered.

About you
The successful candidate will be an accomplished program professional with proven experience managing and delivering complex programs and initiatives. The successful candidate will exercise sound judgement to make informed decisions, and proactively identify and resolve issues to achieve successful program outcomes. They will use excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build and maintain productive relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders, collaborate effectively across teams, and communicate complex information clearly and confidently to support engagement, alignment and implementation.
Desirable Qualifications and Experience
A higher education qualification in a relevant field and demonstrated experience in a similar role is desirable.
