THE ROLE
The Information Sharing Team (IST) is responsible for a number of information sharing functions including assessing and responding to requests for Child Protection information made under the Child Information Sharing Scheme (CISS) and Family Violence Information Sharing Scheme (FVISS). The team provides specialist operational advice on relevant policy, practice, and agreements in relation to information sharing across the Department of Families, Fairness and Housing (the department) and with external stakeholders.
Reporting to the Team Leader, IST, the Senior Program Adviser (SPA) works within a skilled team to support the appropriate exchange of sensitive information in a systematised and consistent manner. The SPA will support the application of legislative requirements in the development of responses to requests for information, provide advice on matters concerning the FVISS and CISS schemes and the department's broader information sharing responsibilities. The role also works within an existing duty model to triage incoming request for information in addition to providing a broad range of operational supports to internal and external stakeholders including the Magistrates and Children's Courts. The SPA is expected to operate with an increased level of autonomy and accountability to contribute to the provision of strategic advice regarding the department's operational policy, practice, and agreements on the sharing of sensitive client information.
