Senior Procurement Specialist
- Salary: $113,022 - $136,747 (Plus Superannuation)

The Role
As a Senior Procurement Specialist, you will be responsible for providing strategic procurement advice to DJSIR Groups and conducting end-to-end procurements to obtain value-for-money outcomes by using strategic sourcing strategies. This role is accountable for driving the development and implementation of high risk-high value procurement and sourcing initiatives to support DJSIR's strategic goals.
Key accountabilities include:
- Provide specialist advice in relation to procurement and contracting to stakeholders across DJSIR. This includes delivering a broad range of procurement and contract services, that are compliant with DJSIR policies and achieve value for money outcomes.
- Initiate and maintain effective relationships with internal stakeholders at peer and senior levels. Work collaboratively by providing responsive procurement advice, ensuring compliance with DJSIR procedures.
- Provide leadership and guidance on the use and rules of Whole of Government panels and review procurements initiated by the business areas to ensure compliance with Procurement policy and procedures.
- Identify and drive the delivery of appropriate sourcing approaches through conducting market analysis, cost-benefit analysis and determining the appropriate sourcing approach to undertake.
- Manage and lead the running of tenders, inputting to the negotiation process of high risk contracts, and supporting the evaluation of quotes documentation of awarding contracts.
- Lead the advice and support in tender evaluations and lead contract negotiations with prospective suppliers
The Team
The position of Senior Procurement Specialist will work within Finance, Investment and Procurement branch, which sits within Corporate Services group.
The Corporate Services group consists of specialist functions including strategic communications, finance, investment and procurement, performance and governance, legal and legislation, people and culture, information technology and workplace services and emergency management. These functions enable the department to operate efficiently and effectively and support the Secretary and Ministers to meet legislative obligations and responsibilities whilst actively supporting the department's portfolio groups and Ministers to create the conditions for growing Victoria's prosperity, building the productive capacity of our economy, and increasing participation.

About You
To be successful in this role you will have the following skills and experience:
- Specialist Expertise: Well-developed advisory and strategic sourcing thinking and experience, with a procurement focus. Proven ability in negotiating complex and high-risk contracts, taking a proactive approach to resolving issues, and focusing on continuous improvement and streamlined user experience.
