We take a modern approach to correctional services, providing people with best practice interventions to reduce their risk of reoffending. All of our work supports community safety.
The Dame Phyllis Frost Centre (DPFC) is Victoria's primary women's prison, accommodating people of all security profiles and with a range of general and specialist units. Located in Ravenhall and opened in 1996, the prison has since undergone significant transformation in service delivery and infrastructure. DPFC recognises that women's pathways to offending are unique and that many women engaged in the criminal justice system have a history of complex trauma. DPFC also has capacity for approved women to care for their child in custody. DPFC's policies and procedures are gender responsive and based on trauma-informed practice principles.
