The Gippsland Region Public Health Unit is seeking a Senior Prevention & Population Health Officer to join our Prevention & Population Health team in Wonthaggi on a part-time (0.8 EFT) or full-time, ongoing basis.
The Senior Prevention & Population Health Officer plays a key role in delivering evidence-informed health promotion and prevention initiatives across Gippsland. Working closely with the Prevention & Population Health Lead, the role supports implementation of the Gippsland Population Health Strategy 2024–2029 through a place-based and equity-focused approach.
The position works with community organisations, local government, health and community services, government agencies and other regional partners to design, implement and evaluate initiatives that improve population health outcomes. The role contributes to a coordinated regional public health system by strengthening partnerships, building local capacity, and ensuring prevention approaches are responsive to community needs.

About us
The Gippsland Region Public Health Unit (GRPHU) works across Gippsland to protect and improve the health and wellbeing of our communities. Our work spans health protection, prevention and population health, surveillance and public health response, delivered in partnership with health services, local government, community organisations and other regional partners.
GRPHU is auspiced by Latrobe Regional Health (LRH), Gippsland's regional health service.
