THE ROLE
As Senior Practice Adviser, you will be responsible for supporting the work of the Chief Practitioner in the development and implementation planning for the new practice approach for statutory Child Protection.
The role is primarily responsible for:
- providing expert and authoritative advice, reasoned recommendations and innovative options and solutions relevant to Child Protection practice
- methodically identifying practice components contained within the Child Protection Manual relevant to the new practice approach that require translating to standalone specialist practice resources
- developing a range of specialist practice resources and professional development content to provide focused guidance to support adherence to and promote consistency of practice
- monitoring implementation planning and delivery of the new practice approach.
Working across the Child Protection program with key stakeholders such as the Statewide Principal Practitioners and Area Principal Practitioners on matters relating to Child Protection practice development.
The role operates within a dynamic environment that requires flexibility, the capacity to exercise sound judgement and the ability to take effective, timely action.
ACCOUNTABILITIES INCLUDE
- Provide leadership, and guidance and authoritative advice to the Chief Practitioner in relation to Child Protection practice, specifically in the context of the development of the new practice approach.
- Apply subject matter expertise to the review of existing practice content and resources, and develop new content and resources relevant to the new practice approach for the Child Protection workforce.
- In being responsible for overseeing and monitoring the new practice approach, ensure it is delivered in accordance with departmental objectives, relevant legislation and government regulations and guidelines.
