THE ROLE
Working as part of a multi-disciplinary team, the Senior Policy and Project Officer in the Economic Inclusion and Carers team leads the delivery of policy advice, programs and initiatives to improve economic inclusion and carer supports in Victoria.
Reporting to the Manager, Economic Inclusion and Carers, this senior role requires a flexible approach working across multiple work streams in economic inclusion and carers. The role will oversee complex programs and stakeholder relationship management for significant financial hardship initiatives with key partners such as Good Shepherd Australia New Zealand. The role also assists on policy and program development for the Victorian Concessions Program.
The role is responsible for delivering on recommendations and actions from the whole of government Victorian Carer Strategy 2025-2035, working with internal and external stakeholders including Carers Victoria, and oversees the delivery, evaluation and improvement of large-scale programs that support unpaid carers.
The role requires leadership skills to ensure a collaborative, inclusive, and high-performing team culture. Strong policy and project management skills, a well-developed working understanding of how to embed self-determination and inclusion principles, and the ability to produce high-quality and timely government products with a high degree of autonomy are key to success.
