THE ROLE
Working as part of a multi-disciplinary team, the Senior Policy and Project Officer leads the delivery of policy advice, programs and initiatives to improve social inclusion and community participation including the Neighbourhood House Coordination Program, Men's Shed Funding Program and other place-based social infrastructure programs and projects. The role also supports delivery of government's Victorian Volunteer Strategy to uplift and increase volunteering across the state.
More broadly, the role will contribute to the work of the Community Inclusion, Carers and Volunteers Unit, as part of a collaborative approach to delivering key government priorities in the Carers and Volunteers portfolio.
Reporting to the Manager, Social Inclusion, this senior role operates within a complex and dynamic environment that requires strong program and project management skills, the ability to proactively develop and maintain effective relationships with key government and community stakeholders, and a well-developed working understanding of how to embed self-determination, diversity, equity and inclusion principles into programs and policy.
Core to success will be experience and knowledge in project and policy design or implementation, capacity to support team leadership, ability to understand new subject matter quickly and oversee high volume contract management, demonstration of appropriate initiative, conceptual and analytical abilities, and ability to produce high-quality products and oversee the work of other team members.
