Senior Policy Officer, Ministerial Coordination and Advice
The Role
Reporting to the Manager, Ministerial Coordination and Advice, this position supports the department's governance and ministerial operations. It provides authoritative advice on administrative policy and supports the delivery of ministerial functions, ensuring alignment with departmental obligations, protocols and procedures.
This role assists with project coordination for departmental initiatives such as the Public Accounts and Estimates Committee (PAEC), oversees key documentation and communication, provides policy advice on matters related to government administration and ministerial services. The role also contributes to business continuity planning across Government and Parliamentary Services functions. It assists with the coordination of ministerial requests and supports the department's responsiveness during ministerial changes and high-peak periods.

The Team
The position of Senior Policy Officer, Ministerial Coordination and Advice forms part of Strategy, Performance and Governance Branch which sits within Corporate Services Group.
The Corporate Services group consists of specialist functions including strategic communications, finance, investment and procurement, performance and governance, legal and legislation, people and culture, information technology and workplace services and emergency management. These functions enable the department to operate efficiently and effectively and support the Secretary and Ministers to meet legislative obligations and responsibilities whilst actively supporting the department's portfolio groups and Ministers to create the conditions for growing Victoria's prosperity, building the productive capacity of our economy, and increasing participation.
The Strategy, Performance and Governance Branch objective is to continuously uplift the efficiency and effectiveness of the Corporate Services Group and the department. The branch does this by driving a program including strategic projects, departmental frameworks and key programs of operational activities aimed at enhancing the performance of Corporate Services Group and the department. The branch enables high-quality reporting, strategic and business planning to facilitate effective oversight and informed decision making across the department.
