The Senior Policy Officer provides expert, authoritative and timely policy advice to the Minister, the Department’s executive and other government departments, undertakes consultation across government and with external stakeholders to inform advice to the Minister and the Department’s executive and manage work programs and deliverables for complex policy projects within tight timelines.
The position is a key part of a Marine, Coast and Land Policy team that develops policies, strategies and advice to support the sustainable management and use of Victoria’s public land, including marine and coastal environments.
The team oversees key policies such as the Marine and Coastal Policy 2020 and Strategy 2022, delivers projects and ongoing advice aligned with government priorities, and supports the work of Victoria’s Saltwater Council and Traditional Owner Sea Country Partnership.

This is a fixed term position available for a period of 12 months. The work location for this position is flexible within Victoria with hybrid work arrangements available.
