An exciting opportunity exists to join the Biosecurity System and Emergency Policy team within Agriculture Victoria.
The Senior Policy Officer contributes to a diverse program of work that supports Victoria's biosecurity system and emergency management capability. The role works across policy, preparedness and reform initiatives, supporting development of strategic advice, coordination of complex projects and engagement with stakeholders across government and nationally.
Working in a small, high-performing team, you will have the opportunity to contribute to emerging policy issues, national biosecurity reform, emergency preparedness activities and strategic projects that help shape Victoria's approach to biosecurity and emergency management.
The successful applicant will bring strong analytical and project delivery skills, sound judgement and the ability to work collaboratively across a range of policy and operational environments. Experience in policy development, project management, emergency management, regulation or related fields will be highly regarded.
This role offers flexible working arrangements and exposure to a broad range of policy, preparedness and emergency management issues across Agriculture Victoria.
Specialist/Technical Expertise/Qualifications
This is a fixed term position available until 30 June 2027. The work location for this position is 8 Nicholson Street Melbourne or 475-485 Mickleham Road Attwood (flexible) with hybrid work arrangements available.
