About the Business Unit:
Victims Services, Support and Reform (VSSR) is part of the Community Safety Victims and Racing group within the Department of Justice and Community Safety (DJCS). VSSR is responsible for the delivery and reform of services to victims of crime, placing victims at the centre of our justice system, as well as direct service provision through a range of programs including the Victims of Crime Helpline, Victims Register and the Victims Assistance Program.
The Strategy Policy and Performance (SPP) team in VSSR leads the development and implementation of victims' policy within DJCS and across government, including Victoria's participation in the National Redress Scheme and supports implementation of major system reforms including the delivery of the new Financial Assistance Scheme for victims of crime and implementing the Aboriginal Victims of Crime Strategy.

The Senior Policy Officer will work collaboratively with teams across VSSR to ensure that the programs are well-designed and well-supported to align with broader reform initiatives and government practice frameworks. This role will suit a creative policy thinker and project lead who enjoys working in a dynamic and high performing environment.
