THE ROLE
As a Senior Policy Officer in the Office for Women, you will play a key role in supporting work to improve outcomes for Victorian women. This includes design and implementation of programs and developing policy to drive cultural change and public sector leadership on gender equality, and strengthen women's health, wellbeing, economic equity, safety and access to leadership opportunities.
The role requires you to be a proactive self-starter with an understanding of government processes and an ability to work in a complex, sensitive and fast-paced environment. You will lead and support a range of projects and core portfolio functions, including program management, preparation of a range of written products, policy development and coordination tasks. The role also requires high levels of adaptability, resilience and attention to detail, and a commitment to contributing to a professional and supportive work environment.
We recognise diversity and a team representative of the Victorian community is critical to our team's success in embedding an intersectional gender lens across government and in the broader Victorian community. We strongly encourage First Nations people, people of colour, people with disability, LGBTIQA+ people and people of all genders to apply.
The successful candidate will demonstrate strong policy, analytical and communication skills coupled with an ability to influence stakeholders and work effectively in a team environment. Experience in program management and social policy will be a strong advantage.
