About the Department
The department provides policy leadership, plans for the future of education in Victoria and leads key cross-sector collaboration. The department plays an important system steward role by providing support, guidance, oversight and assurance across early childhood and school education systems, as well as directly providing school education and 50 new early learning centres.
About the Division
The Child Safety Division sits within Early Childhood Education group. The division leads the Child Information Sharing Scheme, Child Link and priority Child Safety initiatives. This role will lead and contribute to key work that supports the Child Information Sharing Scheme (CISS) and Child Link, to promote child wellbeing and safety. The division contributes to implementation and change management activities for the early childhood system reforms, including measuring attendance of children at Kindergarten to support the roll-out of the Best Start, Best Life Reforms.
About the Role
The position is part of a dynamic, cross-functional and responsive branch, the Victorian Child Information Sharing branch, that leads the statewide implementation of CISS and Child Link. The Senior Policy Officer will lead and contribute to the development of high quality strategic and operational policy advice to support the continued implementation of CISS and Child Link, with a strong focus on Child Link. This work includes project management to ensure strategies are translated in a way to maximise the achievement of identified outcomes. The role undertakes consultation across the Division and external stakeholders to ensure policy issues are effectively translated into technical capabilities, operational processes, and practice guidance for end-users.
