Senior Policy Officer
The Role
As a Senior Policy Officer in the Industry Development, Construction, Manufacturing and Talent Branch, you will work as part of a team leading key policies and projects aimed at improving Victoria's productivity and competitiveness, supporting the growth of industries and regions, stimulating the creation of jobs and improving participation in the economy for all Victorians.
You will play a role in developing, implementing, and managing policies which contribute to the department's objectives. You will research, analyse, and provide advice on policy matters, often with a focus on strategic planning and stakeholder engagement, and monitor the implementation of policies, evaluate their effectiveness, and make recommendations for improvements. The Team
The position of Senior Policy Officer forms a part of the Industry Development, Construction, Manufacturing and Talent (IDCMT) branch within the Industry, Trade and Investment (ITI) group.
ITI works closely with businesses locally and globally to grow Victorian jobs, drive innovation and increase Victoria's international competitiveness. IDCMT is responsible for shaping and ensuring the delivery of the Victorian Government's industry development agenda.
About You
Use your policy design and development experience to formulate and communicate public policy options and recommendations, developing a clear narrative for the policies and business cases including clear problem definition and objectives.
This role will provide you with the opportunity to work collaboratively, guiding others to create a culture of collaboration, identifying and overcoming barriers to knowledge or information sharing.
Your ability to communicate with impact, making a positive impression and dealing with difficult and sensitive topics, will enable you to meet the objectives of the team.
