Reporting into the Energy Markets and Networks branch the Senior Policy Officer role develops policy and regulatory reform that support the Victorian Government's high-level objective to deliver safe, affordable, secure, reliable and sustainable energy to Victorian consumers. This role is highly motivated and plays a leading role in providing evidence-based policy advice to the Minister for Energy and Resources, as well as senior executives. Also, the role leads policy and project reforms within the branch.
The Senior Policy Officer role has well-developed analytical and problem-solving skills, excellent attention to detail, and clear and succinct written and verbal communication skills. Experience within a policy and / or regulatory environment within a governmental context is advantageous, as is an ability to engage with technical policy issues and legislative/regulatory schemes. Forming productive, trusting relationships with stakeholders is crucial, given the need to collaborate with national energy market bodies, Victorian Government agencies and other jurisdictions.

This is a fixed term position available for a period of 3 years. The work location for this position is flexible within Victoria with hybrid work arrangements available.
