An exciting opportunity exists for a talented and passionate individual to join the Justice Branch in the Social Policy Group as Senior Policy Officer, Justice Branch at the Department of Premier and Cabinet.
The Justice Branch provides high-quality, strategic analysis and advice on justice policy issues to support the Premier and Cabinet. The Branch also contributes to the development and delivery of key policies and priority projects from a whole-of-government perspective across the justice portfolio. This includes working within the policy portfolio areas of Attorney-General, including legal policy and courts, Youth Justice, Corrections, Community Safety and Victims.
In this role, you will provide high-quality policy advice to the Premier and senior executives. This will include reviewing policy proposals, undertaking policy analysis and assessing the impact of government decisions and actions. You will work closely with other key departments and areas within DPC. The role requires broad knowledge of government processes and an ability to work flexibly across the Branch's broader work program and Social Policy Group (as required).
This position requires you to deal with sensitive issues in a confidential manner. Work must be conducted with a high degree of accuracy in short time frames.
